Arrival

After a grueling 38 hours of traveling, I arrived in Herrnhut, Germany! For those of you who didn’t know (myself included) Herrnhut is a small village in Germany where the Moravians held a 100 year prayer fast years ago (of which IHOP is modeled after). And as a result of the 100 years of prayer, revivals sparked up all ver Europe. There is potential when the land is devoted to the Lord!
On the plane rides I found myself sitting next to a crying baby, a girl who has lived almost everywhere except America and a man who spoke only German. When I landed in London, it wasn’t raining! That was the fist time I’ve seen the sun in London. When I landed in Dresden I met one other girl from Canada who is doing the same DTS as me! After that we met two other people while attempting to lug our hefty luggage through the airport. We managed to find the train station, buy our tickets and find our seats BUTTT after 30 minutes it was brought to our attention the town we wanted was in the other direction. So three hours later (two hours behind schedule) we finally arrived in Lobac where we met staff members from the DTS. They took us down some pitch black windy roads to the YWAM base (so I pretty much have no clue where I am) and we unloaded!
The base is insanely big, but oddly, it’s not big enough! There is one other DTS here as well with 150 students (plus our 45) so adjusting is quite the adventure. We aren’t allowed to wear shoes inside, so there is a massive shoe room, every girls dream. There are three floors, one with offices, one with housing and a cafe and one with rooms for all the girls. There is also an attic with a prayer room and laundry space. I share a room with 12 other girls from all different sorts of nationalities.
This morning we went into town and the walk is gorgeous! I feel like I’m walking through a Lord of the Rings movie! In town we visited the bank, a grocery store and a bakery. It was a very European experience. We’re going to have dinner soon and I just heard that more girls from my DTS arrived!

Looks like a postcard. Love you. Testing my ability to post a comment, hope this works. Kind of hard to figure out for an old man!
